We are seeking an inspiring and highly qualified Adult ESOL Tutor to join our exceptional Further Education team - recently recognised with the Pearson National Teaching Gold Award for FE Team of the Year for our outstanding work with ESOL learners. You will be part of a dynamic, supportive department within an Outstanding provision, graded by Ofsted, where innovation and learner success are at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
You will teach adult ESOL learners up to Level 2, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that develop speaking & listening, reading and writing skills, while preparing students confidently for examinations of which you will manage the process. You will have the autonomy to design and adapt your own curriculum, creating inspiring learning experiences that stretch and challenge students of all backgrounds.
The role requires flexibility, as teaching hours are determined by student enrolment numbers, levels and programme needs. Timetables are created around these factors and will include an evening class. Dedicated planning and preparation time will be provided to support lesson design, assessment and administrative responsibilities related to the role.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• To undertake all forms of pedagogic work which may include classroom teaching, lecturer work and associated outreach duties, exams, learner support, open and distance learning courses and student placements.
• To ensure the associated organisational and required administrative work, preparation and marking is undertaken.
• To provide the appropriate student welfare and academic/non academic counselling responsibilities and ensure safeguarding procedure is adhered to.
• To conduct curriculum development work including identification of consumer requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses and course materials.

• Must have recent and relevant industry experience
• Have experience of working in a pressured environment to tight timescales and deadlines including examination process
• Outstanding organisational skills
• Excellent communication, literacy and teaching presentation skills
• IT Literate (especially proficient in the use of Excel and Word)
• Communication skills
• Organisation skills - administration/time management
