Are you looking for a career with purpose?
Do you believe in the power of education to change lives?
Are you ready to make a difference - even if you've never worked in a school before?
If you answered yes, then we want to hear from you
Lipson is a school at the heart of its community trying to ensure that every single student is given the best possible opportunity to reach their true potential. As our Attendance Mentor, you'll be the bridge between home and school. You'll be a key part of our new Attendance Team, helping our students make the absolute most out of all of the wonderful things that Lipson has to offer them by overcoming that first barrier and establishing resilience to support great attendance
This is not a job for someone who sees themselves behind a desk or on the end of a phone, but more someone who loves our children and their families and envisages the best way of building these relationships being on the doorstep or their front room over a cuppa.
&slshquot; After studying Psychology at University, I joined Lipson Co-operative Academy as a Learning Mentor-a role that quickly became a turning point in my career journey. Supporting students through one-to-one sessions and targeted interventions allowed me to apply my understanding of behaviour and emotional wellbeing in a meaningful, practical way.
Within my first year the school's inclusive and supportive ethos inspired me to take the next step, and I am now training to become an English teacher. I'm grateful for the experiences and encouragement I received at Lipson, which have helped shape the teacher I aspire to be.&slshquot; Grace
Why This Role is Exciting: - No school experience? No problem. We welcome people from all walks of life - youth workers, sports coaches, creatives, graduates, career-changers - anyone with the passion and resilience to support young people.
- Stepping Stone into Teaching. Thinking about becoming a teacher? This role offers direct links to teacher training providers and real-world classroom experience that will set you up for success.
- Be Part of Something Bigger. Join a vibrant, supportive team in a school that is committed to inclusion, kindness, and opportunity for all students.
&slshquot;I had no previous experience working with children and was in fact a supermarket delivery driver before joining Lipson. From day 1 the training and support I received has been incredible. I have had all the guidance and nurturing required to become part of students' journeys at this amazing school. I have much to be thankful for.&slshquot; Calum
