Governance and Quality Enhancement

This post supports a number of key areas of corporate governance, ensuring that the University remains compliant with current and emerging legislation. The successful candidate will be the University's designated Data Protection Officer, and will provide effective counsel in relation to specific internal regulations, policies and procedures, including Complaints, Student Discipline and Fitness to Practice. They will also provide a proficient secretariat to designated senior committees of the University as directed by the University Secretary.
The successful candidate will have a law degree and a minimum of three years' Post Qualifying Experience. They will also have expertise in, and understanding of, data protection laws and practices, including of the GDPR. They will have excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills, and will have demonstrable ability to make judgments independently and to provide effective advice and recommendation.
Knowledge and experience of Higher Education policy, of dispute resolution, and of delivering training activities is desirable.
