HEAD OF MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) will champion language learning at Stormont, building on an already strong and successful French curriculum. French is currently the principal modern foreign language taught at Stormont, and we are proud of the high standards achieved by our pupils and the enthusiasm they have for language learning.
The role embraces and celebrates all languages and cultures, encouraging pupils to develop curiosity about the wider world and confidence in communicating with others. We are looking for an inspiring language specialist who will bring their own expertise, creativity and ideas to an established and successful provision.
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, enthusiastic and innovative practitioner with excellent subject knowledge, proven fluency in French and a genuine passion for inspiring young learners. They will teach high-quality French lessons to pupils in Years 2-6, while providing subject leadership and contributing to the continued enrichment of MFL at Stormont.
This is an opportunity for an excellent practitioner to work within a school where languages are valued, teaching standards are high and pupils are encouraged to develop both confidence and ambition. The successful candidate will build on the strengths of our existing provision, identifying opportunities to extend pupils' experience of language and culture through curriculum and co-curricular opportunities.
This is a part-time, permanent position, working one day per week on Mondays.
The start date is January 2027.
