Salary: TLR2a - £3,651
Make sure every child in care is seen, supported and expected to succeed. We are seeking a skilled teacher and values-led leader who believes that a child's circumstances should never limit their ambition. The Designated Teacher will bring people together around each child, strengthening teaching, monitoring progress and turning plans into effective support. This role calls for professional curiosity, confident advocacy and the ability to work candidly and constructively with pupils, colleagues, carers and partner agencies. In return, it offers the opportunity to shape provision that matters, helping children in care develop the confidence, independence and foundations they need for their next steps.
Summary of Key Responsibilities- Lead and quality assure teaching, learning and wider provision for children in care, sharing effective practice and addressing areas for improvement.
- Use academic, progress and behavioural information to identify needs, shape support and raise expectations.
- Coordinate timely Personal Education Plan meetings, monitor agreed actions and prepare reports for children in care reviews.
- Liaise effectively with pupils, carers, virtual schools, partner settings and external agencies to provide coordinated support and smooth transitions.
- Lead and manage the children in care support staff and oversee the appropriate use and tracking of Pupil Premium Plus funding.
