Your new role The Leisure Centre Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the school's community lettings programme.
You will coordinate bookings, respond to enquiries and act as the main point of contact for members of the public using the school's facilities. This role combines strong customer service with organisational skills to ensure facilities are well managed, safe and welcoming for all users.
Responsibilities include managing facility hire enquiries, processing bookings through the booking system, preparing facilities for use and ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety procedures. You will also support the promotion of the school's facilities to increase community use and build relationships with local organisations.
The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends depending on the lettings schedule and may include responsibilities such as supervising site use, securing the premises and responding to any incidents or issues during lettings.
What you'll need to succeed You will be confident communicating with a wide range of people, including members of the public, school staff and community organisations.
You will ideally have experience working in a customer-facing role, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage bookings and enquiries efficiently. A confident IT user, you will be comfortable using online systems, email and telephone communication.
You will also have a good understanding of health and safety procedures and safeguarding responsibilities, with the ability to work independently and respond quickly to issues when they arise. A GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is required, and first-aid training or willingness to complete this training would be beneficial.
