Looking to make a difference every day? We are looking for a caring and reliable Midday Supervisor to join our team at Lift Green Way. This is a rewarding role where you will help create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our students.
Every day, you will play an important part in supporting our young people. You will help ensure lunchtimes run smoothly, encourage positive behaviour and help students feel safe, included and ready to learn when they return to class.
About the role As a Midday Supervisor, you will supervise students during lunch breaks across the school site. You will help maintain a calm, safe and respectful environment in dining areas, playgrounds and other shared spaces.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising students as they enter and leave the dining area safely
- Monitoring behaviour in playgrounds and communal spaces
- Encouraging positive behaviour and respectful interactions
- Supporting students' wellbeing and responding to any concerns
- Identifying and addressing any potential safety issues
- Reporting incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff
- Cleaning tables and benches once meals have finished and clearing any spillages
- Supporting lunchtime activities where required
Working pattern - Monday to Friday
- Be available to work between 11:15am and 1:30pm
- 8.5 hours per week
- Term time only
Person criteria We are looking for someone who is reliable, caring and committed to supporting students during lunchtime.
Essential criteria: - A positive and patient approach when working with children
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to encourage positive behaviour and follow the school's behaviour policy
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Awareness of safeguarding and the importance of student welfare
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Ability to supervise students safely in indoor and outdoor spaces
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to undertake training
Desirable criteria: - Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
- Understanding of behaviour management approaches in schools
- This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and understands the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment during the school day.
